Through the Doorway: Different Types of Dream Experiences

Once you are through the door -- remembering your dreams, writing them in your journal, and valuing their hidden messages -- there are several Pathways or Directions your dreams may take. Perhaps most often, your dreams will follow the path of basic symbolic dreams -- they will have messages that you need to understand, as we have spoken of up to this point. There are many types of symbolic dreams; they might be about your health, relationships, your own personal growth, your habits, your tendencies. They may speak to decisions you have to make or choices in front of you. They may be of an immediate nature, or they may be dreams showing you the general trend of your life for years into the future. Or they may be of a highly spiritual nature with breathtakingly beautiful symbols, the “I will remember this one for the rest of my life” type.

But there are other Pathways you may follow during sleep also. We will touch on these now, so that you can have some awareness of them.

The most well known of the other types are the lucid dreams. In a lucid dream you become aware that you are dreaming while you are still in the dream, without waking up.

Another somewhat common Pathway is that of memories that are not dreams at all. Occasionally, during sleep you may actually go out of body, sometimes referred to as astral traveling.

Or you may have memories upon awakening of parallel lives, or other dimensional experiences. You might have trouble accepting that you actually have parallel lives, in that case just dismiss this concept. But for those with whom this resonates, if you cannot for the life of you decipher any meaning from some of your night time excursions, do not stress over it. Let it go. It may be one of these multi dimensional experiences and they really can’t be interpreted or understood in the same way as regular dreams.

We will talk about each of these different types of “dreams” one at a time.

Note: Although these articles can help you a great deal, many of the concepts are best learned in person from Julia herself. If you are interested in a workshop, class, or an individual session, please contact Julia!
